The update comes on the back of first-choice stopper Hugo Lloris being ruled out until 2020 having dislocated his elbow during the 3-0 defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion before the international break, which left Paulo Gazzaniga and Alfie Whiteman as the club’s most senior options in that position.

The Dutchman made 47 appearances for Spurs before his departure just a few months ago, according to Transfermarkt, conceding 47 goals and keeping 17 clean sheets.
