da betcris: The Saints welcome Watford to St Mary’s this Saturday in what is an absolutely crucial relegation six-pointer, with both sides occupying the bottom two positions in the Premier League table after dreadful starts to the campaign.
Back in 2012, however, the south coast side were flying with Lambert up top, securing promotion after a stunning season in which the Southampton icon scored 27 Championship goals and 31 in all competitions.
In total, Lambert scored 115 goals in 230 games for the Saints before leaving for Liverpool, and some Southampton fans on Twitter have been reminiscing over his treble against the Hornets following a tweet from the club’s official account.
One fans said that they would “love” to see Lambert come in as a coach, whereas another said that they could do with him right now alongside Danny Ings.
