Leeds United are in fantastic form at the minute and surely look destined to finally return to the top-flight come to the end of the season, but that shouldn’t put Marcelo Bielsa off from tinkering with his starting XI.
What’s been said?
The Whites have won five straight matches to go one point clear of title rivals West Brom at the top of the Championship table, whilst they are also a massive seven points from the playoff positions with only nine games remaining in the season.
‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ certainly springs to mind, although, Leif Davis’ comeback from injury on Monday night must surely have given the Argentine manager plenty to think about.
The 20-year-0ld put in a solid display against Barnsley U23s alongside several other first-team members and LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross handed him a glowing review.
He said:
“First appearance since his recent knee surgery and did not look like he had been missing at all. As impressive as usual. Reads the game expertly and has the pace to burn if he ever does get into any bother.”

Left-back solution
Davis was just one of two players to receive a rating as high as 7/10 – even the likes of Tyler Roberts, Jamie Shackleton and Elia Caprile failed to match this.
One of Leeds’ most problematic areas has to be left-back.

Barry Douglas is perpetually crocked – he did feature in this game too, but his performance failed to impress Cross, while Gjanni Alioski is a livewire who is probably is better off further forward as a winger.
A combination of the above two factors has resulted in midfielder and now utility man Stuart Dallas playing out of position, and to be fair to him, he’s done very well, but it’s just not his position.
The academy graduate is a natural left-back who has been restricted to only five appearances this term due to injury, but his showing on Monday that has earned such rave reviews certainly hints there could be a future for him under Bielsa.
