He described Matty Cash to be a ‘good player’ for Villa, saying that the club have paid a lot of money to bring the Englishman to the club. While the defender is currently on loan at Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, he said that it is the manager’s choice and if things don’t work out for him, he will have to leave Villa permanently.
The Frenchman made it clear that he likes it at Strasbourg, but he is a Villain and he’s proud of it too.
Before he joined Strasbourg in the winter, the 26-year-old defender had failed to play even once in the Premier League for Dean Smith’s men. So far for the Ligue 1 side though, he has played nine times in the league. He has scored once and has three assists too (As per Transfermarkt).
Last season for Villa though, Guilbert had been a regular at the back. He played 25 Premier League games, getting two assists.
