The player has already stated that his “goal is to play for the first team”, and that’s exactly what a selection of fans want to see following his recent performance for the reserve side.
Dembele scored a late winner against Hearts on Monday with a well executed free-kick, prompting fans on Twitter to heap praise on their exciting academy talent.
Calls for him to be promoted into the first-team are verging on the premature side, but the fact he has previously been pictured in training with the senior squad suggests the Scotland youth international is being prepared for a big future, even if it would go against the grain of Celtic’s recent transfer history.
