da luck: Danny Mills has been full of praise for West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble, as reported by Football Insider.
What did he say?
At 32 years old, the Hammers captain is still an integral part of Manuel Pellegrini’s side, having started 15 Premier League matches this season.
The midfielder made his 500th appearance for the club against Arsenal, while he has been involved in various big moments, including promotion, relegation, the Great Escape, Europa League qualifiers and most importantly captaining the last ever game at Upton Park.
Whether or not this sees him get much recognition outside of East London, he has been brilliant for West Ham, as Mills explained: “I don’t think he’ll go down as a Premier League icon, he’s incredibly hard-working, he’s solid and he’s been fantastic for West Ham.
“He’s a fan favourite, he’s the sort of player you need, he’s industrious, he gives everything, always has done and always will.
“He’s West Ham through and through, he’s been absolutely vital to what they’re all about and he’s kept himself incredibly fit which is a massive bonus.”
Still playing his part
The fitness Mills spoke about could be seen through the captain’s pressing game against Southampton, as he was often found putting the opposition under pressure in a relentless fashion.
That paid its dividends for him and his team, as he ended up making four tackles and one interception, helping secure a 1-0 win.

This was especially impressive due to the formation change to 4-4-2, as it meant there was one less player alongside himself and Declan Rice, adding to their workload.
Noble is definitely still an important player for the Hammers and it seems as though he will continue to be moving forward.
In other news, West Ham are looking to give one ace a new contract.
