da bwin: Crystal Palace travel to the Vitality Stadium on Monday night to face Bournemouth with the Cherries having made a good start to the season despite their 4-0 loss at Burnley last weekend.
da spicy bet:
They currently find themselves eighth in the Premier League table with 10 points, but manager Eddie Howe has issued his players with a clear warning ahead of Monday’s clash: Crystal Palace are more than Wilfried Zaha.
The Breakdown
“He [Zaha] is an outstanding player,” Howe told Sky Sports. “He did well against us in the two games last year, we found him difficult to deal with.
“Yes we need to deal with [him], [but] you have Andros Townsend on the other wing who has had a good start to the season.
“When [Christian] Benteke plays he is a focal point for them, they have got excellent midfielders, a lot of experience.
“So there are a lot of areas that they manage very well. But of course we have good players the other way. We know if we are at the top of our game we are a match for anyone.”
On paper, Crystal Palace do indeed have some very capable players. However, neither Townsend or Benteke — mentioned as threats by Howe — have scored a Premier League goal this season.
Quite frankly, going forward, Zaha looks like Crystal Palace’s only goal-scoring threat. Despite Howe’s words, if Bournemouth can neutralise him, the 40-year-old will feel very confident about his side’s chances of walking away from the game with all three points.
